Prof. Dr. Christian Walter
Christian Walter is Professor and Chair of Public International Law and Public Law at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich. He was previously Professor at the Faculties of Law of the University of Münster (2005-2011) and of Jena (2004/2005). His major research interests in Public International Law concern human rights, international security and international organizations. In (Comparative) Constitutional Law his major focus lies on the role of Constitutional Courts and their procedure as well as on freedom of religion. Among other publications, he is co-author (together with Matthias Ruffert) of “Institutionalized International Law” (Nomos-Hart 2015) and co-editor of “The Israeli Legal System” (Nomos 2019). In 2019 he was elected ordinary member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities.
