Prof. Dr. Markus Vogt


Prof. Dr Markus Vogt (58) has been Professor of Christian Social Ethics at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich since 2007. He studied theology and philosophy in Munich, Jerusalem and Lucerne. Intensive activities in political consultancy (Expert Council for Environmental Issues, Expert Council Bioeconomy Bavaria, Science Platform Sustainability 2030). Permanent Fellow at the Rachel Carson Center, participation in the International Doctoral College "Environmental Humanities". His research focuses on theological and socio-philosophical foundations of ethics, environmental ethics/sustainability, business ethics/justice theories and political ethics/peace ethics. Publications include: Prinzip Nachhaltigkeit (3rd ed. Munich 2013), Religions in the Anthropocene (co-editor, 2017); Christian Environmental Ethics (Freiburg 2021).
